Another “Web 2.0″ Doodad
by Joey Manley
Friend T Campbell sent me this today: Comeeko. It’s a lot like that Strip Generator site I linked to the other day, only you use your own photos, instead of clipart, to generate comic strips.
Basically, AJAX technology is turning into a platform for web developers to put out lots of little functionality-lite one-off gizmos, toys and doodads, sort of like the two dollar software you see piled up in bins beside the checkout line at Circuit City. I don’t mean to be dismissive. These kinds of things can be produced relatively quickly by small teams or individuals, and bandwidth is cheaper than it’s ever been, so any money made by these toys is probably profit, right off the bat.
But, um. Yeah.
