Strip Generator
by Joey Manley
Strip Generator is a “Web 2.0″ drag-and-drop tool for making cookie-cutter webcomics with some predefined characters and panel layouts. My first thought was that this would be very, very bad for webcomics (ha!), but then I thought of the truly great things that, for example, Ryan North has done, with an even more limited graphical — shall we say — palette, and I decided that I was, you know, cool with this. I expect to see some funny stuff. Also lots and lots and lots of crap. But that’s webcomics!
I found Strip Generator on the homepage of Alexa this evening. Apparently it’s a big “mover and shaker.”
Further proof that all roads lead to webcomics.

I think it’s true that most the strips won’t exactly be a quality read, most will probably stink. But to me that’s not what’s important with this. I have a comic, and I enjoy drawing and painting it. But I played around with this little site and I have to say that it was super fun, much more fun than most Flash games out there. It let’s you easily have a good time, be a little creative, and even share that creativity with others. I think that’s pretty cool.
